Product Info

break_your_own_geodes_3.jpg

geode.jpgBreaking geodes is a wonderful way for students to explore rocks, minerals, and crystals. These natural geodes are a great example of how crystals form and a fun mystery to explore as students use geology skills to discover what is inside. We have put these great geodes into an affordable classroom kit with enough geodes for the whole class to give it a try as well as bags for eack geode and instructions. These naturally formed geodes are 1-2 inches (3 cm) wide. We have searched far and wide for geodes that meet our high standards. These are easily broken and over 90% contain a hollow center with crystals inside. Simply place them in and old sock or cloth and tap them with a hammer until they crack open to reveal the crystal structure inside.

Our Complete Kt Includes:

  • 1-2 inch natural geodes from Central America
  • Plastic zip bags to hold and display each geode
  • Individual geode information cards with instructions

These are perfect for classrooms, birthday parties, and youth programs. Safety glasses should be worn whenever breaking geodes. Sold in kits of 15 or 30 geodes. Individual geodes also sold separately.

Mellissa P. writes," Starting this year, my son’s school no longer allows for parents to bring in birthday treats on their child’s birthday due to food allergies and health concerns. His second grade class was in the midst of studying geology and starting rock collections at school, so we decided to bring in the Break-Your-Own-Geodes as a surprise. What a huge success!!"

  1. Good size geodes

We had once gotten a geode kit that had fewer (and smaller)geodes than your kit and it was also more expensive. Thanks for this great item!
