An amazing science demo or holiday effect - Just add water to a small amount of this polymer powder, and it instantly expands to create loads of fluffy fake snow. In fact this small (100g.) jar will create over 2 gallons of fake snow! Over time the water will evaporate, and you can do the experiment all over again. Includes powder and instructions.

We used this as a carnival booth we named Elsa's Snow Making, and we let the kids take the snow home in cups. We used a medicine cup and measured out 1 tea spoon powder and added 3-4 ounces of water inside 5 oz cups. It worked beautifully! The water seems like it would be too much for that little powder, but in one second flat it fluffs up like magic! The kids loved it!

At my 6 year old daughter's science themed birthday we did this as an experiment. We mixed dropped the color tablets in the water first (also found on this site) and then mixed in the snow powder. It instantly made colored snow that we threw around the room and pretended like it was snowing.
It was a little tough to get out of the carpet but we applied a damp towel to the area and it came up fine with the vacuum.
Super fun. They couldn't stop laughing.
