A little water, an Alka-Seltzer tablet, and one of our film canisters, and you've got a rocket! Our canisters are the perfect canisters to use for film canister rockets. (see experiment link below) This is a highly popular and fun activity at any age level with lots of room for experimentation. These canisters have tight-fitting lids that close with an audible "snap!" The fit is tight enough to build up pressure and send the canister 12 feet high or more into the air. Great for demonstrating rocketry, the scientific method, teaching Newton's Laws, or just an unforgettable, high-flying science lesson. Of course, I suppose you could also use it for storing small items. Our new canisters are the standard size of 50mm X 30mm. Includes canisters, caps, and experiment instructions. (You provide the Alka Seltzer/fizzing tablets) Don't forget safety goggles when launching the rockets.

We had a good time at multiple sites with afterschool programming. The canisters did what they were supposed to. Two leaked and didn't pop but we swapped them out.

We here at Wallingford Public Schools use film canisters in many of our science kits and they are getting harder to find. It was awesome to be able to find exactly what we were looking for.

We used these canisters at Engineering Open House; they were awesome. The kids (and young adults) loved them.

I give these 5 stars for the simple fact that, since the demise of film cameras, "Science Bob" has made the search for these canisters so easy. I didn't find a price lower than Science Bob, and the delivery was super fast. We've used these at our school science day the last several years and have not had any complaints about rockets not working. The kids have a blast and this science day committee member is happy that Science Bob has made these so easy to get. Thank you!

We have been making film canister rockets for years. We got these last year from Science Bob and had great success. This year's batch was variable. Out of 15:
2 canisters were duds, 4 canisters launched 3-6 feet, 6 canisters launched 6-8 feet, 3 canisters went over 12 feet high. (We got about the same results from canisters we purchased from Spangler Science a few years back) We'll get these again next year, but probably get extras to cover any that don't work.
