One 3rd grader in Texas won a 23 county science fair by testing the static in different size PVC pipe using the static orb. Go Max! Since I know it can be hard to find tinsel for this experiment, I've put together a kit that contains at least 25 strands of the exact same tinsel used in the video, as well as expanded written directions. It costs less than a dollar and the price includes postage. I hope this helps to allow everyone to try this fun experiment. Does the width of the PVC pipe affect how high the orb floats? PVC pipe comes im many different widths. You can test different width pipes to find out if they affect how high or how long the tinsel floats.
