The Zero Blaster has been a big hit with our professional team of elementary school product testers, but we have found the teachers can't wait to get their hands on it as well. These smoke ring generators use a non-toxic smoke fluid to create fog and generate rings 4-6 inches (10-15cm) wide that can travel over 12 feet (3 meters). The fog ring is a rotating toroidal (donut shaped) vortex (whirling motion of air with a low pressure area in the center). We have fun filling the air with a series of drifting fog rings or blasting one fog ring with another. With a little prictice we have been able to get the fog rings to travel along the beam from a laser pointer in a dark room. The opportunities for science and fun are a'plenty.
