Here at The Science Bob Store, we are big fans of Snap Circuits. They are kid-friendly, easy to use, and they teach real concepts about electricity and electronics. The Snap Circuits kit (Model SC-300) includes instructions for more than 300 projects including a flying saucer, an AM radio, a burgular alarm, and even a lie detector. No tools are required. There are over 60 parts including photoresistors, a motor, a microphone, transistors, and multiple switches. Requires 4 AA batteries (not included) For ages 8 and up.
